Sub Effects
You can add effects that apply only to a particular overlaid image or text effect. For example, you could change add a distortion effect to some text while leaving the underlying image unchanged.

Sub Effects can only be added to overlaid images and text. To add a sub effect, click the Add Sub Effects button in the image or text effect controller. The button is highlighted and the text changes to Will Add Sub Effects. Now, any effects that you add will apply only to the image or text.

To stop adding sub effects, click the button again. You can also
select another effect. Sub effects will only be added when the Will Add Sub Effects button is highlighted yellow.

Sub Effects will not be added Sub Effects will be added
You can nest sub effects; for example, you could add a text sub effect to an image effect, and then add sub effects to the text.
